Here are some of the happenings of Apostrophe Cakap-Cakap held in Kota Kinabalu. For those who came, thank you very much for your support!
13 Aug
Hello everyone! I am helping out an event to be held soon in KK. It’s called Cakap-cakap.
Start being creative and come up with interesting and quirky captions and you might win a Sony Ericsson W910i mobile phone worth over RM1,500.

All the participants of the Cakap-Cakap apostrophe programme need to do is fill up the empty speech bubbles on cartoons with the most amusing thoughts or musings.
“They hope that these comics provoke thought, laughter and nostalgia. Through them, we would like you to tell us about your own Malaysian moment. In the current landscape, Malaysian moments and stories have become so important in shaping our creative identity, why not do it with a bit fun?” -quoted from Aposthrophe
Each Apostrophe programme is supported by a series of Expression Sessions - these are workshops led by well-established practitioners in the arts industry to guide and encourage people to discover their creativity.
These sessions will be facilitated by professional writers of various disciplines and local creative workshop group Cloudbreak. Each interactive session will focus on the different facets of writing, be it playwriting, screenwriting, journalism or poetry.

I always wondered, how does it feel jumping off a tall building, especially Yayasan Sabah.
Well, I am not going to try but, you guys sure would be thrilled because there will be a base jumping event on the 9th (Saturday) and 10th August 2008 (Sunday) and I hope you guys can come over and catch it!
A mini concert with O.A.G who gave us the hit ’60’s TV’ would be performing with local artistes, activities “FUNtastic EXPLORACE” with families, colouring competition for kids, XTREME GAMES activities like BMX and skateboarding for teenagers and loads of attractive prizes to be won!
Entrance is definately FREE!

I had to upload these designs I did for Fairuz Modelling Studio in December for a “Photogenic Model 2007″ at Atlantis Bistro, Waterfront, KK. Fairuz Modelling Studio approached me to design 5 streamers for their finalists and 1 banner for advertising purpose of the event.
The designs concepts were to represent the beauty and the colourful ethnicity of Photogenic Model 2007. I proposed and designed them with the following designs finalised. A fine shade of colours isn’t it?

It was about last week when I got a call from Dino, the proprietor of Imperial International Hotel, requesting me to have a ‘free trial’ stay in one of the rooms.
How lucky was I?!?

I arrived late, around 8pm at Imperial International Hotel situated in Warisan Square in the heart of Kota Kinabalu, a modern city - looking astonishingly amazed at the hotel’s contemporary designs but somehow couldnt help noticing the carpets resembling “Kuih Lapis” as quoted by Nancy.

One important thing you should do before sleeping at night…..
*Test your beds!
I find the place rather impressive for a 4-star hotel. Unfortunately, only one floor was in commission at that time while the other floors were still under construction which would be up pretty much soon.
I manage to get the same deluxe room as Julian which was pretty cool but i didn’t get a good view, just a small view of Api-api centre. (how sad!)
But still, I had a 32″ LCD tv (currently with 4 local channels; Astro coming soon!)
The hotel features:
Imperial International Hotel is currently open to walk in guests.
Current promotion rate till further notice is at RM130 only!
This would be a fantastic chance for you to enjoy a wonderful stay in Imperial International Hotel.
Do drop in any replies if you’ve manage to try it out! ![]()
